Ghost Ship
04:38
|
|||
As the tides die down
And your light fades
I can feel your energy dwindling away
I’ve taken a fascination with you
And it breaks my heart
To see you in such pain
So I offer you an opportunity
And a chance of eternity
If you just take my hand
And join me at the perils of sea
Time, time wants you
And all you do
You cannot hide
From tomorrow
And I, I too want you
And all you do
So take my hand
Free of sorrow
Or die, with the world
Like all those girls
All those poor fools
Who came before you
oh roo ohh yoh hoh
I say, what do you say
Let me show you the way
So, your time has come
And your world is done
What will you do
who will you choose
please come with me
we can sail the seas
All you’ve got to do is join my crew
or die with the world like all those girls
all those poor fools
who came before you
oh roo ohh yoh hoh
I say, what do you say
Let me show you the way

Sailing Away
02:35
|
|||
I ask my father about the sins of his life
He told me what was wrong and
he told me what was right
He said tonight sit here with me
I’ll tell you all the things that you need to know
How to grow up and how to grow old
But tonight enjoy my company
We were drinking all night
to drown all our sorrows
come on boyo
we’ll live like no tomorrow
tonight, sit here with me
Women are a thing you’ll never understand
you gotta do things to call yourself a man
but tonight sit here with me
So many times you will get burned
so many lessons that you yet to learn
but tonight enjoy my company
We were drinking all night
to drown all our sorrows
come on boyo
we’ll live like no tomorrow
tonight, sit here with me
We were sailing away
We were sailing away
We were sailing away
We were sailing away
He said tonight sit here with me
He said tonight sit here with me

Far Away Shores
03:22
|
|||
Molly started crying
Her tears running down
Like a storm of a cold Irish sea
Danny me boy are you so bound to go
Don’t you care for your mother and me
Molly me dear the love of my life
and I had no plan to leave ye behind
I’m America bound where my fortune is found
and I’ll send for you both in good time
If I never seen Ireland again
I’ll at least have the love of my family and friends
Carry me safe to that far away shore
If I never see Ireland again
Handful of soil from my daddy’s cold cold grave
And a bag that holds all that I own
All the folks say that the West is the way
To this new land so cold and alone
I think of you often I think of you my dear
I think of my mother and my brothers over there
And so often I wish I could go back
But I have to do this now
If I never seen Ireland again
I’ll at least have the love of my family and friends
Carry me safe to that far away shore
If I never see Ireland again

Heavy Is The Heart
04:48
|
|||
Heavy is
Heavy is the heart that hears her name
Since she left it’s not been the same
She left you broken now
You remember when
You remember when
she swore it would be okay
A promise she’ll take to her grave
My how things have changed
You thought by now
You swore by now
You’d have life figured out
Without her by your side
But in dreams
She holds you down with her lips
And you could feel her fingertips
Running up and down your chest
Heavy is
Heavy is the heart that hears her name
‘Cause since she left it’s not been the same
She left you broken now
She cut you down
She cut you down like an old dead tree
She burned every one of your dreams
All the dreams that you had now
And so you tell yourself
That you can make it with somebody else
And lord knows you fucking tried
But never felt as right
As the wrong woman for me
For me
Heavy is
Heavy is the heart that hears her name
Since she left it’s not been the same
She left you broken now
You remember when
She ran her fingers up and down your chest
You could feel her breath on your neck
You dream of it every night
For in your dreams
You’re still holding on you see
You’re a prisoner to her schemes
And you know it’s not right
You thought by now
You swore by now
You’d have life figured out
Without her by your side

Black & Tans
03:19
|
|||
I was born on a Dublin street
where the Loyalist drums they beat
And the loving English feet
they walked all over us
And every single night
when me dad would come home tight
He'd invite the neighbors out
with his chorus
Come out you black and tans
Come out and fight me like a man
Show your wife how you
won medals in Flanders
And how the IRA
Made you run like hell away
From the green and lovely lanes
in Killashandra
Come and come and tell
How you caught the great Pernell
And you had him truly purely persecuted
And how you smeared and jeered
Laughed for us to hear
Our leaders of sixteen you executed
Come out you black and tans
Come out and fight me like a man
Show your wife how you
won medals in Flanders
And how the IRA
Made you run like hell away
From the green and lovely lanes
in Killashandra
Come tell us how you slew
Those old Arabs two by two
And the Zulus they had knives and bows and arrows
How you bravely faced one
With a sixteen-pounder gun
And frightened them poor natives to the marrow
Come out you black and tans
Come out and fight me like a man
Show your wife how you
won medals in Flanders
And how the IRA
Made you run like hell away
From the green and lovely lanes
in Killashandra
Come out you British Huns
Come out and fight without your guns
Show your wife how you won medals in Derry
You killed sixteen men and you'll do it all again
Get out of here and take your fucking army
Come out you black and tans
Come out and fight me like a man
Show your wife how you
won medals in Flanders
And how the IRA
Made you run like hell away
From the green and lovely lanes
in Killashandra
Come out you black and tans
Come out and fight me like a man
Show your wife how you
won medals in Flanders
And how the IRA
Made you run like hell away
From the green and lovely lanes
in Killashandra
Come out you black and tans
Come out and fight me like a man
Show your wife how you
won medals in Flanders
And how the IRA
Made you run like hell away
From the green and lovely lanes
in Killashandra

Over & Sober
03:34
|
|||
It was just a bad day and into a bad night
Took my boys to the pub and we were drinking all night
Everyone singing along to all the sad songs
Frowns turned to smiles and laughs turn to cheers
Fists pound on the tables saying “bring us more beers”
Nothing is bad when the lads are singing along
And it’s over for me
Cause I’m sober you’ll see
I’ve been cursed with this clarity
And it’s over for me
With a fist full of whiskey
And a heart full of heartache
My friends got a hold of me
And I’ve still not yet been straight
Looking for a place to sleep tonight
They say come on now boyo we’re drinking ‘til 3:00
And two days go by and we’re still drinking whiskey
Nothing has changed except the days and the time
And it’s over for me
Cause I’m sober you’ll see
I’ve been cursed with this clarity
And it’s over for me
Been drinking too much
Maybe too far gone
I’m in a different world
on someone’s front lawn
Don’t know where I am
Or how many days
I’ve been stuck in a bender
Drunk in a haze
Where is my car
I’m in a different time zone
I’ve gone way too far
and I can’t find my way home
Drinking with the boys
And everything’s just fine
We’re still drinking
And we’re doing it all night
Whoooaahh
Whoooaahh
And it’s over for me
Cause I’m sober you’ll see
I’ve been cursed with this clarity
And it’s over for me

Irish Goodbye
02:42
|
|||
When the girls start singing Danny Boy I know it’s time to go
The boys are getting whiskey frisky when the whiskey flows
Irish eyes are smiling and mine are full of tears
I order me up one more round of whiskey and beer
And I rove far away
With an Irish goodbye I was never here anyway
And I rove far away
With an Irish goodbye I was never here anyway
When the girls start singing Danny Boy I know it’s time to go
Those girls are getting whiskey frisky when the whiskey flows
Irish eyes are smiling and mine are full of tears
I order me up one more round of whiskey and beer
And I rove far away
With an Irish goodbye I was never here anyway
And I rove far away
With an Irish goodbye I was never here anyway
And I rove far away
With an Irish goodbye I was never here anyway
And I rove far away
With an Irish goodbye I was never here anyway

Celtic Symphony

Do do do do do do do do do do do do
It was far across the sea, when the devil got a hold of me
He wouldn't set me free, and he kept me soul for ransom
Na na na na na...
I'm a sailor man from Glasgow town,
From this world move round and round
He's the meanest thing that I have found
All across me travels
Na na na na na na
Na na na na na na na
Na na na na na na
Na na na na na na
Could see him with his evil eyes,
He looked at me with my surprise
Take me to your paradise,
I want to see the Jungle.
Na na na na na na
Na na na na na na na
Na na na na na na
Na na na na na na
So here we go again (here we go)
We're on the road again (on the road)
We're on the road again
We're on our way to paradise
We’re in the jungle deep (jungle deep)
That's where the lion sleeps
And for his evil eyes
They have no place in paradise
Graffiti on the walls
As the sun was going down
We saw graffiti on the walls
The Celts! The Celts!
Graffiti on the wall
Says we're magic, we're magic
Graffiti on the wall
Graffiti on the wall
It says
ooh ah up the 'RA, say ooh ah up the 'RA
ooh ah up the 'RA, say ooh ah up the 'RA
ooh ah up the 'RA, say ooh ah up the 'RA
ooh ah up the 'RA, say ooh ah up the 'RA
We went thru each jungle deep
For the paradise we seek
It was no trip for the weak
We were waltzing with the natives
Na na na na na na
Na na na na na na na
Na na na na na na
Na na na na na na
From Amazon to Borneo
From Wichita to Tokyo
Was the meanest thing I’ve ever known
No I could not shake him
Na na na na na na
Na na na na na na na
Na na na na na na
Na na na na na na
Around in circles in every way
He turned to me and he did say
"I think you're leading me astray
I want your soul, me boyo!"
Na na na na na na
Na na na na na na na
Na na na na na na
Na na na na na na
So here we go again (here we go)
We're on the road again (on the road)
We're on the road again
We're on our way to paradise
We’re in the jungle deep (jungle deep)
That's where the lion sleeps
And for his evil eyes
They have no place in paradise
Graffiti on the walls
As the sun was going down
We saw graffiti on the walls
The Celts! The Celts!
Graffiti on the wall
Says we're magic, we're magic
Graffiti on the wall
Graffiti on the wall
It says
ooh ah up the 'RA, say ooh ah up the 'RA
ooh ah up the 'RA, say ooh ah up the 'RA
ooh ah up the 'RA, say ooh ah up the 'RA
ooh ah up the 'RA, say ooh ah up the 'RA

I Will Rove
03:30
|
|||
Who you were is how I am today
Jaded and broken and betrayed
The apple of my eye, I believed every word
Such a pretty song, from a pretty bird
Hold me down and tell me truth again
Look me in the eyes and swear we’re friends
If I’m a monster, you’re Frankenstein
Because you created me, with all your lies
Give me two more shots
and then I’ll go
Give me three more pints
and I’ll hit the road
Drink myself into a dreamless sleep
Because every time I close my eyes
it’s her I see
it’s always her I see
So from here to there I'll rove
From the only life I’ve known
I’ll spend a year on the road
I will rove, from the apple of my eye
Who you were is how I am today
Jaded and broken and betrayed
The apple of my eye, I believed every word
Such a pretty song, from a pretty bird
Hold me down and tell me truth again
Look me in the eyes and swear we’re friends
If I’m a monster, you’re Frankenstein
Because you created me, with all your lies
Give me two more pints
and then I’ll go
Give me three more shots
and I’ll hit the road
Drink myself into a dreamless sleep
Because every time I close my eyes
it’s her I see
it’s always her I see
So from here to there I'll rove
From the only life I’ve known
I’ll spend a year on the road
I will rove, from the apple of my eye

Chance Encounter

It’s been a long time
A lifetime actually
I hope you’re doing well
And I wish you the best
While I drown in my whiskey
Dreaming of you
It’s been so long I wonder what I’ll do
If I ever run back into you
Will I be cool and will I be alright
Or will I play the fool with tears in my eyes
But when I turned the corner
at the store and saw her face
With that tall strapping lad
next to her that took my place
All I could think about
was the broken promise she made
And how you’d be with me
‘Til the end of your days
I’ll never forget the moment when we locked eyes
It was only for a second but it felt like a fucking lifetime
You know that it was never really alright
I know that it was hard for us, but mainly on my side
And just one time
I’d love to hear her say
You were my best friend
I’m sorry that it had to go this way
And just one time
I’d love to play
Play her one more song
Then I’d be on my way
But when I turned the corner at the store and saw her face
With that tall strapping lad next to her that took my place
All I could think about was the broken promise she made
And how she’d be with me, till the end of our days
‘Til the end of our days
From this day to the last
And the life after that
I’ll never forget

Too Drunk For Too Long
04:45
|
|||
First show is at 10 AM and we were up late drinking all night
practicing to sound good, well at least maybe alright
The crowd was digging it and they were begging for more
Buying us all the shots before we walked out the door
And the whiskey kept on flowing
and people just sang our songs too
They lined up shots and we knocked ‘em down
with a grateful toast to the room
Now it’s 4 PM and we’re playing our second show
the crowd always gets rowdy but that’s just how it goes
Playing Whiskey In A Jar, and Seven Drunken Nights
Fist pounding on the table and there’s no end in sight
And the whiskey kept on flowing, and people just sang our songs too
They lined up shots
and we knocked ‘em down
with a grateful toast to the room (sláinte!)
We’ve been too drunk
For too long
And we just keep singing
those same drunk songs
All night long
Our third show of the day, and it’s already 9 PM
And you know that we started drinking again
Girls are getting whiskey frisky
And guys are getting in fights
Playing them Irish bangers
and there’s no end in sight.
But we don’t need no girlfriends
just people to sing our song to
Line up the shots and we knock them down
with a grateful toast to the room (sláinte!)
We’ve been too drunk
For too long
And we just keep singing
those same drunk songs
All night long
All night long
All night long
All night long
And the whiskey kept on flowing
and people just sing our songs too
They lined up shots and we knocked ‘em down
with a grateful toast to the room
We’ve been too drunk
For too long
And we just keep singing
those same drunk songs
(Hey man, take a shot! Come on Mike!)
All night long
All night long
(We’ve played three shows already)
Three shows in one day. Drinking whiskey.
Ah, I’ve been drinking all day.
We started drinking last night, into today.)
All night long
All night long
(I don’t even know what songs we played anymore)
